Recently, my sisters and I hosted a flower crown workshop for some local kids. We had about 26 children of all ages and it was great fun!
You all voted on my Instagram stories for me to make a flower crown tutorial on the blog. So here it is! Enjoy!
It is actually really simple and easy to put together.
You will need florist wire, some flowers and greenery of your choice. You will also need a pair of scissors or pruning shears. I used mini sunflowers, statice and two types of greenery that I picked from our garden for my crown.
Start by taking a flower with a fairly long stem. I started off with a sunflower as it had a nice long stem.
Add some greenery and wrap the florist wire quite tightly around both stems to secure them together.
Add more flowers and greenery, wrapping the wire around the stems as you go. Cut the stems short otherwise your crown will be too thick. Just be careful not to snip the longest stem that you started with.
When you are nearing the end of the first long stem, add another long stemmed flower and continue your crown. Don’t forget to make sure the flowers are all facing the same way.
Measure the crown around your head from time to time until you are sure it will fit.
Take each end of the crown and secure them together with the wire. Snip off any long ends you may have.
Your crown is finished! 😀
It also makes a nice wreath that you can hang on your door.
I hope that you enjoyed this tutorial! If you make one and post it on instagram, use the hashtag #flowercrowninspring so that I can check it out! Have a lovely week! xx
