Hello all you wonderful people!
I hope that you have all been having a great holiday enjoying family and friends. I know I have! It has honestly been a whirlwind of activity for us as a family. We celebrated my sister’s 21st at the beginning of the month, I also had a birthday this month and we have been hanging out on the beach a whole bunch spending time with friends. We hosted a barn dance on our farm which was lots of fun. We have also been baking like crazy for our bakery business and picking lots of flowers for our flower business! It has been a busy but enjoyable time.
Today, I thought I would share some pictures of my sister’s 21st. We planned this 21st months beforehand! My sister wanted her 21st in the forest on our farm. She also wanted lots of flowers so the theme was forest and flowers.
We did lots of arts and crafts leading up to her 21st. My brothers also worked hard clearing an area in the forest and building benches and a fire pit for a bonfire.
These were leaves that we dried and spray painted gold and hung between the trees.
We also made brown and white paper bunting to hang between the trees.
We bent lots of trees and made arches that we covered in flowers or pine cones.
We hung lots of fairy lights and jars with candles as it was an evening event.
It was very windy and threatened rain on the day of the 21st so we were very relieved when the weather cleared up and calmed down just as the guests started to arrive! I made the cake and lots and lots of brownies for all the guests. My dad made a very foresty stand to display them on and I think it turned out really nice.
For the supper, we did a bring and share finger food feast. We served icecream with the brownies and later on in the evening, we served hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows around the bonfire. Lots of fun! Below is a picture of the fire pit my brothers created.
Now for a pic of the birthday girl! She spent hours searching the shops for a dress to wear and could find nothing she liked. In the end, she decided to sew herself a skirt. It turned out very nice and she looked just like a forest princess!
We spent the first part of the evening taking lots of pictures with friends. We made a photo booth with a sign and a floral arch. I thought I would show you a few of the family pictures that we took 🙂

We did speeches and watched a slideshow I put together of my sister’s life. We then spent the rest of the evening dancing away. We love dancing as a family! It is our very favorite thing to do! We did some barn dancing and some Afrikaans sokkie!
All in all, the evening was lots of fun and very memorable. We all enjoyed it a ton and I can’t wait to see what my sister’s future will bring! She is a special person and we love her to bits!
I hope that you all have a very blessed new year! Ill be back with lots of new posts soon!
